Rona Cohen, President of MCH Services, Inc. is a
Certified Lactation Consultant based in Los Angeles,
California. Ms. Cohen has championed the cause of
breastfeeding in the U.S. since 1985 and is internationally
recognized as the industry leader in corporate lactation.
Cohen developed the first corporate lactation programs in the
United States for Transamerica Life Companies, the Los Angeles
Department of Water and Power, and the Aerospace Corporation
where she currently operates a model lactation / expectant
parents' program.
Ms. Cohen was National Program Manager of Medela's Corporate
Lactation Program, Sanvita, for nine years. She designed the
first official program model and wrote its supporting corporate,
professional, and employee manuals. She is the originator of
research design and the principal investigator for Corporate
Lactation Research Project at the Departmentof Water and Power
and the Aerospace Corporation.
In January 1999, upon closure of the Sanvita Program through
Medela,and in order to continue providing supportive programs
to nursing families,Cohen founded MCH Services, Inc. With its
expert management of national and international multi-site programs,
MCH quickly became a leader in the industry. Today, the clients
of MCH Services, Inc. include many Fortune 500 companies and
those listed on the 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers by
Working Mother Magazine.
Cohen is a graduate of Ohio State University and University
of CaliforniaLos Angeles (UCLA) where she received her
Master's Degree in Nursing in OB/GYN and Neonatology. She is a
Family Planning Nurse Practitioner(FPNP), a Sex Educator and
Counselor, and an International Board Certified Lactation
Consultant (IBCLC).
Cohen is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University
of California at Los Angeles, School of Nursing and lecturer
on women and family work issues. In 1995, she presented a briefing
to the Congressional Caucus for Women and is currently a principal
speaker at national conferences. Cohen serves on the March of
Dimes Southern California Work-site Advisory Board, and has
served on the March of Dimes National Work-site Advisory Board,
the Washington Business Group on Health Technical Board and
the National Working Committee on Breastmilk Issues related
to Day Care and the Transmission of Infectious Agents.
In addition to authoring the only published articles on corporate
lactation research and contributing to books and videos on health,
women's issues and lactation, Cohen has made television appearances
on CNN, and CNN Financial News, Tom Brokaw NBC Evening News,
the Sally Jessy Raphael Show, and the Dr. Dean Adell Show.
